The Great Actor (Korean: 대배우; RR: Daebaewoo) is a 2016 South Korean comedy film written and directed by Seok Min-Woo. The film explores the challenges of the acting profession through the perspective of a long-time performer seeking a breakthrough.

Plot

Jang Sung-Pil (Oh Dal-Su) has spent two decades working as a minor actor, primarily performing in children's theater productions such as A Dog of Flanders, where he plays the role of Patrasche. His ambition to become a recognized actor is reignited by the success of his former colleague, Sul Gang-Sik (Yoon Je-Moon), who has achieved mainstream fame. When a renowned director known as Cannes Park (Lee Kyoung-Young) announces auditions for a priest role in his upcoming film Devil’s Blood, Jang Sung-Pil views it as a pivotal opportunity to prove his capabilities.

The film was written and directed by Seok Min-Woo and produced by Jo Sung-Hwan. It was released in South Korea on March 30, 2016, with a runtime of 108 minutes. The film was distributed by Daemyung Culture Factory and Little Big Pictures.
