The First Responders
The First Responders (Korean: 소방서 옆 경찰서; RR: Sobangseo Yeob Kyungchalseo) is a South Korean television series that premiered on SBS in 2022. The drama focuses on the professional cooperation between members of a local police station and a fire station as they respond to emergency situations in the fictional district of Taewon.
Premise
The series explores the intersection of police investigative work and emergency fire and rescue services. The narrative centers on three primary characters: Jin Ho-Gae, a skilled but abrasive detective; Bong Do-Jin, an enthusiastic and dedicated firefighter; and Song Seol, a compassionate paramedic. Together, they navigate the challenges of their respective roles while working to resolve complex cases and save lives.

The program occupied the time slot previously held by One Dollar Lawyer and was followed by Payback: Money and Power in January 2023. Due to the broadcast of the SBS Entertainment Awards on December 17, 2022, the eleventh episode was rescheduled to December 23, 2022.
Sequel
A second season, titled The First Responders 2, was produced and released in 2023, continuing the story of the Taewon emergency services personnel.
