The Family Is Coming (Korean: 떴다! 패밀리; RR: Ddeotda! Paemilri) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from January 3 to March 15, 2015. The series consists of 20 episodes and was broadcast during the Saturday and Sunday 20:40 time slot.
Background and Production
The drama is based on the novel Halmaega Dolawatda, written by Kim Bum and published on June 25, 2012, by Woongjin Jisikhouse. The television adaptation was directed by Joo Dong-Min, with the screenplay written by Kim Shin-Hye.
The series occupied the SBS weekend time slot following the conclusion of Modern Farmer and was succeeded by Yeah, That's How It Is in 2016.
Plot
The story centers on Jung Kkeut-Soon, a grandmother who returns to South Korea after living in the United States for 50 years. Her sudden reappearance triggers a conflict among her family members, who are primarily motivated by the prospect of inheriting her wealth.
