The Faceless Boss (Korean: 얼굴없는 보스; RR: Eolguleubsneun Boseu) is a 2019 South Korean noir film directed by Song Chang-Yong. The film explores the harsh realities of organized crime through the perspective of its protagonist, Kwon Sang-Gon.
Plot
The narrative follows Kwon Sang-Gon, portrayed by Chun Jung-Myung, a man who enters the criminal underworld with the ambition of living a prestigious and powerful life. Upon ascending to the position of a gang boss, he discovers that the reality of his status is far from his expectations. Instead of reaping rewards, he finds himself trapped in a cycle of conspiracies, internal betrayal, and violence, turning his life into a struggle for survival.
Production
The film was directed by Song Chang-Yong, with production duties handled by Kim Jin-Hwi and Song Chan-Ho. The cinematography was managed by Park Young-Soo. The film has a runtime of 114 minutes and was released in South Korea on November 21, 2019.
