The Cat (2011 South Korean Film)
The Cat (Korean: 고양이: 죽음을 보는 두 개의 눈; RR: Goyangyi: Jookeumeul Boneun Doo Gaeui Noon) is a 2011 South Korean horror film directed by Byun Seung-wook. The film explores themes of trauma and supernatural occurrences centered around a pet groomer.

Plot
So-yeon (Park Min-young) is a professional pet groomer who suffers from claustrophobia, a condition stemming from a childhood trauma. Her life takes a dark turn when she begins caring for a cat named Bidanyi after its owner is found dead in an elevator. Following this event, So-yeon starts experiencing terrifying visions of a mysterious young girl. As those around her, including her friend Bo-hee (Shin Da-eun), meet untimely deaths in the presence of cats, So-yeon and police officer Joon-suk (Kim Dong-wook) attempt to uncover the connection between the feline animals and the supernatural occurrences.

Production
The film was produced by Lee Joon-dong, with cinematography by Lee In-won. Principal photography commenced in early December 2010 and concluded on March 9, 2011. The film features the acting debut of child actress Kim Ye-ron, who is the younger sister of actress Kim Sae-ron.

Release and Reception
The Cat was released in South Korea on July 7, 2011, and was distributed by Next Entertainment World. It was later featured at the 16th Fantasia Film Festival in 2012, where it held its Canadian premiere.
