The Bride of Habaek
The Bride of Habaek (Korean: 하백의 신부 2017) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network tvN from July 3 to August 22, 2017. The fantasy romance drama consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at 22:50.
Background and Development
The series is based on the webcomic Habaekui Shinboo by author Yoon Mi-Kyung, which was serialized from May 7, 2012, to December 11, 2014. The title "Ha Baek" translates literally to "Water God" from the Chinese characters 河伯. The production was directed by Kim Byung-Soo with a screenplay by Jung Yoon-Jung. The first script reading for the production took place on March 16, 2017, at the CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Plot
The story follows a romance between the water god Ha Baek (played by Nam Joo-Hyuk) and a psychiatrist named So-A (played by Shin Se-Kyung).
