The Beauty Inside (2018 South Korean TV Series)
The Beauty Inside is a South Korean television drama series that aired on JTBC from October 1 to November 20, 2018. The series, which consists of 16 episodes, was directed by Song Hyun-wook and Nam Ki-hoon, with a screenplay written by Im Meari. It occupies a distinct place in the 2018 broadcast schedule, following the series Life and preceding Clean with Passion for Now.

Plot
The narrative centers on Han Se-kye, a prominent actress frequently surrounded by rumors and public scrutiny. Unknown to the public, she experiences a recurring supernatural phenomenon: for one week every month, her physical appearance transforms into that of a completely different person. Her life intersects with Seo Do-jae, a high-ranking executive at an airline company. Despite his outward appearance of perfection, Do-jae suffers from prosopagnosia, an inability to recognize faces. He relies on observing mannerisms and habits to identify people, but he finds himself uniquely able to recognize Han Se-kye, regardless of her changing appearance.
Production
The series is inspired by the 2012 American social film The Beauty Inside, which was sponsored by Intel and Toshiba and received recognition at the 2013 Clio Awards and Cannes Lions. The production of the JTBC drama involved a reunion between actress Seo Hyun-jin and director Song Hyun-wook, who had previously collaborated on the 2016 tvN series Another Miss Oh. The first script reading for the production was held on July 22, 2018.
