The Beauty Inside (2015 Film)

The Beauty Inside (Korean: 뷰티 인사이드; RR: Byooti Insaideu) is a 2015 South Korean fantasy-romance film directed by Baek Jong-Yeol. The film explores the complex relationship between a man who undergoes a physical transformation every day and the woman who falls in love with him.

Plot

The story follows Woo-Jin, a man who wakes up in a different physical body every morning, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Because of this condition, he lives a secluded life until he meets Yi-Soo, played by Han Hyo-Joo. As they develop a romantic connection, the film examines how Yi-Soo navigates the challenges of loving someone whose appearance is constantly changing.

Production

The film was directed by Baek Jong-Yeol and written by Kim Sun-Jung and Park Jung-Ye. Principal photography commenced on November 6, 2014, and concluded in February 2015. The film is based on a 2012 American social film of the same name, which was sponsored by Intel and Toshiba and received recognition at the 2013 Clio Awards and Cannes Lions.
