The Admiral: Roaring Currents (Korean: 명량; RR: Myeongryang) is a 2014 South Korean war film directed by Kim Han-Min. The film dramatizes the historical Battle of Myeongryang, which occurred on October 26, 1597, during the Imjin War. It serves as the first installment in Kim Han-Min's trilogy centered on the naval victories of the Joseon dynasty's Admiral Yi Sun-Shin.

Production
Principal photography for the film commenced on January 28, 2013, and concluded on July 21, 2013. The production focused on recreating the naval engagement where Admiral Yi, commanding only 12 remaining ships, faced a significantly larger Japanese fleet.
