Taxi Driver 2
Taxi Driver 2 (Korean: 모범택시2) is a South Korean television series that aired on SBS from February 17 to April 15, 2023. It serves as the second season in the Taxi Driver franchise, following the 2021 original series. The drama is based on the webcomic Mobeomtaxi, written by Carlos and illustrated by Lee Jae-Jin.
Plot
The series centers on the employees of Rainbow Taxi, a company that operates a clandestine service providing revenge for victims who have been unable to find justice through the conventional legal system. Kim Do-Gi (Lee Je-Hoon) leads the team, supported by owner Jang Sung-Chul (Kim Eui-Sung), hacker Ahn Go-Eun (Pyo Ye-Jin), and mechanics Choi Kyung-Koo (Jang Hyuk-Jin) and Park Jin-Eon (Bae Yoo-Ram).
Following the conclusion of their previous missions, the team initially disperses to pursue other career paths. However, they eventually reunite to address new cases, including a complex investigation in Vietnam. The team is joined by a new employee, On Ha-Joon (Shin Jae-Ha).
Production
The series was directed by Lee Dan with a screenplay by Oh Sang-Ho. The first script reading for the production took place on June 12, 2022. Actress Esom, who portrayed Prosecutor Kang Ha-Na in the first season, did not return for the second season due to scheduling conflicts. The show occupied the Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot on SBS, succeeding Payback: Money and Power and preceding Dr. Romantic 3.
The broadcast schedule experienced a minor adjustment during its run; the sixth episode, originally slated for March 4, 2023, was rescheduled to March 11, 2023, to accommodate a special recap episode and a World Baseball Classic broadcast.
