Tantara Upcoming South Korean Netflix Series

Tantara (also known by the English working title Show Business and its literal Korean title Slowly and Intensely) is an upcoming South Korean streaming television series distributed by Netflix.[1] Set against the backdrop of the South Korean entertainment industry spanning from the 1960s through the 1980s, the production features a screenplay written by No Hee-Kyung and is directed by Lee Yoon-Jung.[1]

Production and Development

Principal photography for the series officially commenced on January 12, 2025.[1] Developed as a 22-episode drama series for the Netflix platform, the project brings together prominent figures in South Korean television production, including writer No Hee-Kyung and director Lee Yoon-Jung.[1]

Cast and Characters

The series features an ensemble cast portraying characters navigating the South Korean music and entertainment industry across multiple decades:

• Song Hye-Kyo as Min-Ja, a character characterized by a strong inner will developed through overcoming early hardships before entering the music industry.[1]
• Gong Yoo as Dong-Gu, a childhood friend of Min-Ja who shares a tumultuous background and joins her in the music industry.[1]
• Seol Hyun as Min-Hee, who shares a complex, long-standing relationship with Min-Ja.[1]
• Cha Seung-Won as Gil-Yeo, an influential music industry composer and magnate.[1]
• Lee Ha-Nee as Yang-Ja, Min-Hee's mother who maintains aspirations of becoming a singer despite difficult circumstances.[1]
