Tangeum (Television Series)

Tangeum is a South Korean television series directed by Kim Hong-Sun. The drama is based on the novel Tangeum: Geumeul Samkida by author Jang Da-Hye, which was published on February 5, 2021. The series is scheduled for release on Netflix.

Plot

The story centers on Hongrang, the successor to a prominent merchants' association in the Joseon era, who disappears at the age of eight. His older step-sister, Sim Jae-Yi, continues to search for him for over a decade. After 12 years, a man claiming to be the now 20-year-old Hongrang returns to the family. However, he possesses no memories of his life prior to his disappearance and harbors a significant secret. Sim Jae-Yi begins to suspect his identity while finding herself drawn to him.

Production

The series is directed by Kim Hong-Sun, with a screenplay adapted by Kim Jin-A. It consists of 11 episodes. The production features a large ensemble cast, including Lee Jae-Wook as Hongrang and Cho Bo-Ah as Sim Jae-Yi.
