Sweet, Savage Family (Korean: 달콤살벌 패밀리; RR: Dalkomsalbul Paemilri) is a South Korean television series that aired on the MBC network from November 18, 2015, to January 14, 2016. The series, directed by Kang Dae-sun and written by Son Geun-joo, consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot.

Premise

The story follows Yoon Tae-soo (played by Jung Joon-ho), a high-ranking gang boss who controls the adult entertainment district in Daejeon. Despite his intimidating professional life, he struggles to maintain a normal domestic life at home. His family includes his strong-willed wife, Kim Eun-ok (Moon Jeong-hee), who frequently nags him, a rebellious daughter, a model student son, and his mother. The series explores the comedic and dramatic tensions that arise as Tae-soo attempts to reconcile his criminal activities with his role as a husband and father.

Production

The series replaced the drama She Was Pretty in its time slot and was followed by One More Happy Ending. The lead actors, Jung Joon-ho and Moon Jeong-hee, had previously worked together as a married couple in the 2014 MBC drama Mama.
