Sweet & Sour (Korean: 새콤달콤; RR: Saekomdalkom) is a 2021 South Korean romantic comedy-drama film directed by Lee Gye-Byeok. The film explores the complexities of modern relationships, focusing on the evolution of a couple's bond as they face career pressures and personal challenges. It was released internationally via Netflix on June 4, 2021.

Plot

The story follows Jang Hyeok (Jang Ki-Yong), who is in a committed relationship with Jung Da-Eun (Chae Soo-Bin), a nurse. Initially, their relationship is characterized by affection, but the dynamic shifts as Jang Hyeok takes on a temporary position at a large corporation. His ambition to secure a permanent role leads to intense competition and professional proximity with a colleague, Han Bo-Yeong (Krystal). As Jang Hyeok navigates his career, his relationship with Da-Eun becomes strained, while his interactions with Bo-Yeong grow more complex.

Production

The film is based on the 2004 novel Initiation Love by Japanese author Kurumi Inui. The screenplay was adapted by director Lee Gye-Byeok and Sung Da-Som. The production features a large ensemble cast, including:
