Swan and Bat (Japanese: 白鳥とコウモリ, Romaji: Hakucho to Komori) is a Japanese film directed by Yoshiyuki Kishi.

Production and Source Material

The film is based on the novel Hakucho to Komori written by Keigo Higashino, which was published on April 7, 2021, by Gentosha. The screenplay was adapted by Kosuke Mukai, and the film is distributed by Shochiku.

Plot Synopsis

Kensuke Shiraishi, an upright lawyer, is found stabbed to death. The investigation leads to Tatsuro Kuraki, who confesses to the murder. Although authorities consider the case solved following the confession, the victim's daughter, Mirei Shiraishi, and the suspect's son, Kazuma Kuraki, experience persistent doubts. Questioning the motives behind the crime, the two collaborate to investigate the case independently.
