Plot

The story centers on Kim Yun-hee, a young woman who disguises herself as her brother to support her family. She eventually enters the prestigious Sungkyunkwan academy, a space traditionally reserved for men. During her time at the institution, she forms complex relationships with three fellow students: the principled and privileged Lee Seon-joon, the charismatic and observant Ku Yong-ha, and the impulsive, rebellious Moon Jae-sin.

Production and Background

The series is based on the 2007 novel Sungkyunkwan Yoosaengdeului Nanal, written by Jung Eun-gwol. The television adaptation was directed by Kim Won-suk and Hwang In-hyuk, with a screenplay by Kim Tae-hee. The show occupied the Monday and Tuesday 21:55 time slot on KBS2, succeeding Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho and preceding Marry Me, Mary!.
