Stranger 2 (South Korean TV Series)

Stranger 2, also known by its Korean title Bimilui Soop 2, is a South Korean legal thriller television series that aired on tvN in 2020. The series serves as a direct sequel to the 2017 drama Stranger (Bimilui Soop). Directed by Park Hyun-Suk and written by Lee Soo-Yeon, the show consists of 16 episodes.

Plot

The narrative centers on the escalating conflict between the public prosecutor's office and the National Police Agency. As both institutions vie for greater investigative authority and autonomy, Prosecutor Hwang Si-Mok (played by Cho Seung-Woo) and Detective Han Yeo-Jin (played by Bae Doo-Na) find themselves navigating a complex web of institutional politics while investigating a hidden case.

Production

The first script reading for the series was held on January 13, 2020, in South Korea. The show occupied the Saturday and Sunday 21:00 time slot on tvN, following the conclusion of It's Okay to Not Be Okay, and was succeeded by Start-Up on October 17, 2020.
