Stove League (Korean: 스토브리그) is a South Korean television drama series directed by Jung Dong-Yoon and written by Lee Shin-Hwa. Broadcast by SBS, the series originally aired for 16 episodes from December 13, 2019, to February 14, 2020, occupying the network's Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot.

Production and Broadcast Background

The series production involved a script reading session held during the first weekend of September 2019 in South Korea. In the SBS schedule, Stove League took over the Friday and Saturday 22:00 time slot previously occupied by Vagabond, and was followed by Hyena on February 21, 2020.

Due to scheduling adjustments such as the SBS Entertainment Awards and the Lunar New Year holiday, certain episode broadcasts were rescheduled. Episode 6 aired on January 3, 2020, following the broadcast of the awards ceremony. Additionally, episodes 12 and 13 were postponed from the weekend of January 24–25, 2020, airing instead on Friday, January 31, 2020, and Saturday, February 1, 2020, respectively.

Cast and Characters

The series features an ensemble cast portraying management staff, scouts, coaches, and players of the fictional professional baseball team Dreams, alongside members of rival teams such as the Vikings.

Management and Business Operations

Namkoong Min stars as Baek Seung-Soo, the newly appointed general manager of the professional baseball team Dreams, which ranks at the bottom of the league. Park Eun-Bin stars alongside him as Lee Se-Young, the operations manager dedicated to the team's success. This series marked a reunion for Namkoong Min and Park Eun-Bin, who previously worked together as second leads in the 2013 MBC drama series Hur Jun, the Original Story.
