Stained Glass (South Korean TV Series)
Stained Glass (Korean: 유리화; RR: Yurihwa) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from December 1, 2004, to February 3, 2005. The series consists of eight episodes and was directed by Lee Chang-sun with a screenplay written by Park Hye-kyeong.
Plot
The story follows two orphans, Han Dong-joo and Park Ki-tae, who grow up as best friends in an orphanage. Their bond is tested when a girl named Shin Ji-soo transfers to their school. While Ji-soo initially admires the friendship between the two boys, she eventually develops romantic feelings for Dong-joo. The dynamic shifts dramatically after Dong-joo disappears while attempting to retrieve an ocarina from the water for Ji-soo. Presumed dead by his friends, Dong-joo is actually rescued by a Japanese couple and taken to Japan.
In the years that follow, Ki-tae fills the void left by Dong-joo, and he and Ji-soo eventually become a couple. Twelve years later, Dong-joo returns to South Korea as a Japanese gentleman named Yuichi Yamamoto. Upon reuniting with his former friends, the rekindling of his past memories and his lingering feelings for Ji-soo cause significant tension, leading to the deterioration of his friendship with Ki-tae.
