Spy Myeong-Wol
Spy Myeong-Wol (Korean: 스파이명월) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from July 11 to September 6, 2011. The romantic comedy follows the story of a North Korean spy who is tasked with infiltrating South Korea to influence a popular entertainer.

Plot
The narrative centers on Han Myeong-Wol (played by Han Ye-Seul), a North Korean agent. After a series of events, she is assigned a mission to travel to South Korea, marry the popular actor Kang Woo (played by Eric Mun), and persuade him to defect to the North. The series explores the complications that arise as the spy navigates life in South Korea while interacting with the celebrity target.
Production and Controversy
The production of Spy Myeong-Wol experienced significant disruption in August 2011. Lead actress Han Ye-Seul failed to appear for scheduled filming on August 14 and 15. Reports indicated that the actress had expressed dissatisfaction with the production's director and the intensity of the filming schedule, which included long hours. Due to these absences, the production of episodes 11 and 12 was delayed, and KBS2 aired a special episode on August 15 instead of the scheduled broadcast.
On August 15, 2011, Han Ye-Seul traveled to Los Angeles. Her management agency, Sidus HQ, subsequently announced on August 16 that the actress would return to South Korea on August 17 to resume filming, citing exhaustion and stress as contributing factors to her departure. The agency issued an apology for the impact her absence had on the production team and the series' schedule.
