Special Labor Inspector Mr. Jo
Special Labor Inspector Mr. Jo (Korean: 특별근로감독관 조장풍; RR: Teukbyeolgeunrogamdoggwan Jojangpoong) is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from April 8 to May 28, 2019. The drama follows the life of Jo Jin-gab, a former judo athlete who transitions into a career as a public official and eventually becomes a labor inspector.

Plot
The protagonist, Jo Jin-gab (played by Kim Dong-wook), was once a promising judo athlete. His athletic career ended prematurely after he protested corruption during a competition, leading to his expulsion from the sport. He subsequently became a gym teacher, but his career in education was also short-lived after he confronted the son of the school's chairman regarding unfair treatment.
Seeking a more stable career, Jo Jin-gab passed the civil service examination. While he initially aimed for a quiet life as a public officer, his life takes a turn when he is transferred to the Ministry of Employment and Labor. As a labor inspector, he encounters systemic corruption and individuals abusing their power, which compels him to confront these injustices, effectively returning to his former, idealistic self.

Production
The series was directed by Park Won-gook and written by Kim Ban-di. It consisted of 32 episodes, broadcast on Monday and Tuesday at 22:00. The production held its first script reading in early January 2019. The show occupied the MBC time slot previously held by the drama Item and was followed by Partners for Justice Season 2 in June 2019.
