South of the Sun (Korean: 태양의 남쪽; RR: Taeyangui Namjjok) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from August 30 to October 19, 2003. The series consists of 16 episodes and was directed by Kim Su-ryong, with a screenplay written by Kim Eun-sook and Kang Eun-jeong.

Plot
The narrative centers on the relationship between Kang Sung-jae (played by Choi Min-soo), a man who has spent time in prison for a crime he did not commit, and Jung Hyeon-hee (played by Choi Myung-gil), a woman who appears content but struggles with deep personal isolation. The two characters connect through a series of letters, eventually bonding over their shared experiences of loneliness. Their relationship faces significant challenges when Min-joo, Sung-jae's former fiancée, re-enters his life.
