Solomon's Perjury (Korean: 솔로몬의 위증; RR: Solromonui Wijeung) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on JTBC from December 16, 2016, to January 28, 2017. The series consists of 12 episodes and was broadcast in the Friday and Saturday 20:30 time slot.
Plot
The story follows the aftermath of a male student's death at a high school. While authorities quickly conclude the death was a suicide, a group of students becomes dissatisfied with the official investigation. They decide to organize an independent school trial to uncover the truth behind the incident.
Production
The series is based on the novel Solomon no Gisho by Japanese author Miyuki Miyabe, which was serialized in the magazine Shosetsu Shincho between 2002 and 2011. The drama was directed by Kang Il-Soo and Han Hyun-Hee, with a screenplay by Kim Ho-Soo.
The first script reading for the production took place on November 2, 2016, at the JTBC building in Sangam, Seoul. The premiere, originally scheduled for December 9, 2016, was delayed by one week to accommodate the broadcast of JTBC's News Room, which covered the potential impeachment of the South Korean president at the time.
