Snowy Road (Korean: 눈길; RR: Noongil) is a 2017 South Korean period drama film directed by Lee Na-jeong and written by Yoo Bo-ra. The film explores the tragic history of "comfort women," focusing on the lives of two young girls during the Japanese occupation of Korea.

Background and Development
The project originated as a two-episode television drama special that aired on KBS1 in 2015. Following its initial broadcast, the material was edited into a feature-length film. The production had its world premiere at the 2015 Jeonju International Film Festival before its wider theatrical release on March 1, 2017.
Plot
The story follows Jong-boon (Kim Hyang-gi) and Young-ae (Kim Sae-ron), two girls from the same village with vastly different social backgrounds. Jong-boon comes from a poor family, while Young-ae is from a wealthy household. Despite their differences, their lives intersect when they are forcibly taken from their homes. Young-ae, believing she is joining a student work group to study in Japan, is deceived, while Jong-boon is kidnapped. Together, they are transported to a facility where they are subjected to the horrific reality of sexual slavery.
