Background and Source Material

The film is based on the Japanese manga series Kujo no Taizai, written and illustrated by Shohei Manabe. The manga originally commenced publication on October 12, 2020, in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Big Comic Spirits. The narrative follows complex and morally ambiguous legal and criminal themes typical of Manabe's works.
