Sin of a Family (2011 Film)

Sin of a Family (Korean: 우리 이웃의 범죄; RR: Woori Yiwootwei Bumjoe) is a 2011 South Korean crime film directed by Min Byung-Jin. The film follows a detective who becomes deeply involved in the investigation of a young child's kidnapping and murder in a small city.

Plot

The narrative centers on Detective Jo, portrayed by Shin Hyun-Joon, who is initially indifferent toward his duties. However, his perspective shifts as he encounters the disturbing realities of a child murder case, forcing him to confront the complexities of the crime.

Production

The film was written by Min Byung-Jin and Park Hee-Kang. During its development phase, the project was known by the working title Kojak Sajin, which translates to "Family Photo." The screenplay received support from the Korean Film Council's investment division. The film held its world premiere in July 2010 at the 14th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival before its general release in South Korea on April 7, 2011.
