Sikgu (2018 Film)
Sikgu (Korean: 식구), also known by its English title The Soup, is a 2018 South Korean drama film directed by Im Young-Hoon. The film explores themes of family dynamics and social intrusion, centering on a man who forces his way into the lives of a seemingly ordinary family.

Plot
The story follows Jae-Goo (Yoon Park), a man estranged from his own family due to his past behavior. While working at a construction site and struggling with a gambling addiction, he encounters Soon-Sik (Shin Jung-Keun) at a funeral hall. Perceiving Soon-Sik as a kind and vulnerable individual, Jae-Goo manipulates his way into the man's home for a night. Soon-Sik lives with his wife, Ae-Sim (Jang So-Yeon), and their young daughter, Soon-Young (Go Na-Hee). Although Jae-Goo initially departs the following morning, he soon returns, initiating an unsettling and unwanted presence in the family's household.
Production
The film was directed by Im Young-Hoon, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jung Hyun-Doo. Principal photography for the project commenced on November 22, 2015, and concluded on December 24, 2015. The film was distributed by Storm Pictures and received its theatrical release in South Korea on July 12, 2018.
