Shylock's Children (2023 Film)

Shylock's Children (Japanese: シャイロックの子供たち, Hepburn: Shylock no Kodomotachi) is a 2023 Japanese drama film directed by Katsuhide Motoki. The film is based on the 2006 novel of the same name written by Jun Ikeido.

Plot

The story centers on Masahiro Nishiki (Sadawo Abe), a veteran bank clerk employed at the Nagahara branch of Tokyo Daiichi Bank. The narrative is set in motion when a mysterious cash-loss incident occurs at the branch. Nishiki, alongside his colleagues Airi Kitagawa (Aya Ueto) and Yoji Tabata (Yuta Tamamori), begins an investigation to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of the funds, eventually revealing deeper secrets hidden within the institution.
