Shinhannin Flag (Japanese: 真犯人フラグ), often referred to as Guilty Flag 2, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV in 2022. The series serves as the continuation of the mystery thriller that began in 2021, focusing on the unexplained disappearance of the Sagara family.
Plot Background
The story follows Ryosuke Sagara, played by Hidetoshi Nishijima, an ordinary and good-natured salaryman working for a mid-sized shipping company. His life is upended when his wife, Maho (Rie Miyazawa), and their two children suddenly vanish without a trace. With no leads, Ryosuke becomes the center of intense media and public scrutiny. He works alongside his subordinate, Mizuho Ninomiya (Kyoko Yoshine), to uncover the truth behind his family's disappearance.
Production and Broadcast
The series was directed by Noriyoshi Sakuma, Satoru Nakajima, and Naoko Komuro, with a screenplay written by Minato Takano. It consists of 10 episodes and aired in the Sunday 22:30 time slot on NTV from January 9 to March 13, 2022. The series followed the first season of Shinhannin Flag and was succeeded by The Files of Young Kindaichi 5 in April 2022.
