Shinhannin Flag

Shinhannin Flag (Japanese: 真犯人フラグ, literally "Real Criminal Flag") is a Japanese television mystery drama series that aired on NTV from October 10 to December 19, 2021. The series was broadcast in the Sunday 22:30 time slot, succeeding the drama My Murderous Intent Was In Love.

Plot

The story centers on Ryosuke Sagara, an ordinary, good-natured salaryman employed by a mid-sized shipping company. His life is disrupted when his wife, Maho, and their two children—a daughter in high school and a son in elementary school—suddenly disappear without a trace. As the investigation yields no immediate clues, the case draws significant attention from the media and the public. Ryosuke attempts to uncover the truth behind his family's disappearance with the assistance of his subordinate, Mizuho Ninomiya.

Production

The series was directed by Noriyoshi Sakuma, Satoru Nakajima, and Naoko Komuro, with a screenplay written by Minato Takano. Following the conclusion of the initial 10-episode run, the story continued with a follow-up series, Shinhannin Flag 2, which premiered on January 9, 2022.
