Shin Min-A (born April 5, 1984, as Yang Min-A) is a prominent South Korean actress and model. Recognized for her versatile performances across film and television, she has built a substantial career spanning over two decades.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Born in South Korea, Shin grew up with her parents, an older sister, and a younger brother. While attending middle school, she participated in a school picnic where she and her friends took a photograph. That photograph was submitted to the teen magazine KiKi, leading to her selection as a model for the publication. Following her early print modeling work, she appeared in commercial advertisements and music videos.
Shin made her formal acting debut in 2001, starring in the action-fantasy film Volcano High. She followed this with a role in the romance film Madeleine in 2003.
Breakthrough and Film Career
Her critical breakthrough occurred in 2005 with a supporting role in Kim Jee-woon's acclaimed gangster film A Bittersweet Life, portraying the character Hee-soo. The performance brought her wider recognition among South Korean audiences and filmmakers.
