Following its establishment in 1990, SBS commenced radio and television broadcasting operations in 1991. The company officially changed its legal name from Seoul Bangsong to SBS on March 17, 2000.

SBS operates a multi-channel broadcasting network encompassing both television and radio services. Its broadcast portfolio includes terrestrial, cable, satellite, and digital multimedia broadcasting platforms.
