Seobok (2021 South Korean Film)
Seobok is a 2021 South Korean science fiction drama film directed by Lee Yong-Joo. The narrative centers on the intersection of human morality, scientific ambition, and the pursuit of eternal life. The film draws thematic inspiration from the historical legend of Xu Fu, a figure from the Qin Dynasty who was famously dispatched by Emperor Qin Shi Huang to locate the mythical elixir of life.

Plot Summary
The story follows Min Ki-Hun (played by Gong Yoo), a former intelligence agent living in isolation. He is tasked with a final mission: to ensure the safe transport of Seo Bok (played by Park Bo-Gum), the world's first human clone. Seo Bok possesses unique biological properties that hold the potential for eternal life, making him a target for various factions seeking to control or exploit his existence. As Ki-Hun protects the clone, the two develop an unlikely connection while navigating a series of dangerous confrontations.


Production
The film was written and directed by Lee Yong-Joo. Principal photography commenced on May 21, 2019, and concluded on October 10, 2019. Although originally slated for a December 2020 release in South Korea, the premiere was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was eventually released on April 15, 2021.
