See You in My 19th Life is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network tvN from June 17 to July 23, 2023. The drama, which consists of 12 episodes, was broadcast in the Saturday and Sunday 21:20 time slot. It replaced Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and was succeeded by The Uncanny Counter 2.
Background and Production
The series is based on the webcomic of the same name written and illustrated by Lee Hye. The original webcomic was serialized on the Naver platform from June 6, 2020, to October 29, 2022. The television adaptation was directed by Lee Na-Jeong, with the screenplay developed by Choi Young-Rin.
Plot
The story follows Ban Ji-Eum, a woman who possesses the ability to remember all of her previous lives. This phenomenon typically begins between the ages of 8 and 12. In her 18th life, she lived as Yoon Joo-Won and formed a deep bond with a young boy named Mun Seo-Ha. Following her reincarnation into her 19th life as Ban Ji-Eum, she seeks out the now-adult Mun Seo-Ha, who has lived with the trauma of losing his loved ones, including Yoon Joo-Won, during his youth.
