Secrets and Lies (South Korean TV Series)

Secrets and Lies (Korean: 비밀과 거짓말; RR: Bimilgwa Geojitmal) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the MBC network. The series premiered on June 25, 2018, and concluded on January 11, 2019, spanning 122 episodes. It was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 19:15–19:55 time slot.

Plot

The narrative centers on Han Woo-Jung, a woman characterized by her bright and resilient personality. Her life is significantly altered following a betrayal by her close friend, Shin Hwa-Kyung. Despite the personal and professional setbacks caused by this betrayal, Han Woo-Jung continues to pursue her aspirations without losing hope.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Jung-Ho with a screenplay written by Lee Do-Hyun. The initial script reading for the cast took place on March 29, 2018, at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, South Korea. The drama occupied the MBC Monday-Friday 19:15 time slot, succeeding Enemies from the Past and preceding Blessing of the Sea, which began airing on January 14, 2019.
