Secret Mother
Secret Mother (Korean: 시크릿 마더) is a South Korean television series that aired on SBS from May 12 to July 7, 2018. The mystery-thriller drama consists of 32 episodes, broadcast in a Saturday time slot. The series was directed by Park Yong-Soon and written by Hwang Ye-Jin.
Plot
The story centers on Kim Yoon-Jin (played by Song Yoon-A), a former psychiatrist who left her profession to focus on her family. Haunted by the death of her daughter and struggling with lingering guilt, she becomes intensely focused on her son's academic success. In an effort to secure his future, she hires a mysterious private tutor, Kim Eun-Young (played by Kim So-Yeon), to assist him in gaining admission to a prestigious university. As the relationship between the two women develops, the series explores themes of motherhood, secrets, and hidden pasts.
Production and Broadcast
The series occupied the SBS Saturday 20:45 time slot, following the conclusion of The Good Witch and preceding Let Me Introduce Her. The broadcast schedule experienced a temporary disruption on June 16, 2018, when episodes 21–24 were preempted due to coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. These episodes were subsequently aired on June 23, 2018.
