Second Shot at Love

Second Shot at Love (Korean: 금주를 부탁해; RR: Geumjooreul Bootakhae) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on tvN in 2025. The series consists of 12 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 20:50 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Han Geum-Ju (played by Sooyoung), a dedicated car mechanic with ten years of experience at a major automobile company. Known for her social nature and appreciation for alcohol, her life takes a turn when she is labeled an alcoholic. This professional and personal crisis prompts her to challenge herself to achieve sobriety. Her journey intersects with her first love, Seo Ui-Joon (played by Gong Myung), a former medical specialist at a prestigious university hospital in Seoul who has returned to their hometown to work as a director at a local public health center. Unlike Geum-Ju, Ui-Joon is known for his aversion to alcohol, creating a dynamic contrast between the two leads.

Production

The series was directed by Jang Yoo-Jeong, with a screenplay written by Myung Soo-Hyun and Jun Ji-Hyun. The title Geum-Joo is a play on words, as the name also translates to the act of abstaining from alcohol in Korean. The drama occupied the tvN time slot previously held by The Divorce Insurance and was followed by Head Over Heels in June 2025.
