Scout (2007 Film)
Scout (Korean: 스카우트; RR: Seukawooteu) is a 2007 South Korean comedy-drama film directed and written by Kim Hyun-seok. Set in 1980, the film blends sports, romance, and historical drama, using the backdrop of a high-stakes college baseball recruiting mission to explore the atmosphere of the Gwangju Uprising.

Plot
The story follows Ho-chang (played by Im Chang-jung), a staff member for a university baseball team. While hoping for a peaceful vacation, he is instead tasked with a high-pressure assignment: to recruit Dong-yeol (Lee Gun-joo), a highly sought-after high school baseball prodigy. Ho-chang travels to Gwangju to secure the recruit, only to find himself competing against rival university scouts.
His mission becomes increasingly complicated as he encounters his former girlfriend, Se-young (Uhm Ji-won), and deals with her hostile partner. Facing resistance from the player's parents and rumors that rival teams have already secured the recruit, a desperate Ho-chang resorts to kidnapping the young athlete to ensure his team wins the recruitment battle.
