Scarlet Letter (2010 South Korean TV Series)

Scarlet Letter (Korean: 주홍글씨; RR: Juhonggeulshi) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC from August 9, 2010, to April 1, 2011. The series was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 07:50 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Han Kyung-seo, an aspiring writer who eventually marries her college crush, Jang Jae-yong. Their relationship is complicated by the presence of Cha Hye-ran, a junior classmate who previously dated Jae-yong. Following a period of imprisonment for accidental homicide, Jae-yong faces significant challenges. Kyung-seo, struggling with financial hardship, begins working as a television drama writer. In an attempt to navigate her career, she incorporates elements of her own life, her husband's past, and her history with Cha Hye-ran into her scripts.

Production

The series was directed by Lee Min-soo and Lee Gye-joon, with the screenplay written by Kim Ji-soo. It spanned 165 episodes. The show occupied the MBC morning time slot, following the conclusion of Pink Lipstick and preceding You Are So Pretty.
