Save the Family (South Korean TV Series)

Save the Family (Korean: 가족을 지켜라; RR: Gajokeul Jikyeora) is a South Korean daily television drama that aired on KBS1 from May 11 to October 30, 2015. The series consists of 123 episodes and was broadcast Monday through Friday in the 20:25 to 21:00 time slot.

Plot

The narrative centers on Jung Woo-Jin (played by Jae Hee), an ambitious doctor who has become cynical regarding love and marriage, viewing the latter primarily as a business arrangement. His perspective is challenged when he meets Lee Hae-Soo (played by Kang Byul), an assistant chef who maintains a traditional outlook, dreaming of building a stable and loving family. The series follows their developing relationship as Woo-Jin navigates the conflict between his professional ambitions and his personal feelings.

Production

The drama was directed by Jun Sung-Hong and written by Hong Young-Hee. The pair had previously collaborated on the 2012 KBS drama series Moon and Stars for You. Save the Family occupied the KBS1 Monday-Friday 20:25 time slot, succeeding You Are The Only One and preceding Sweet Home, Sweet Honey, which began airing on November 2, 2015.
