Premise and Plot

The narrative follows Ichito Shimotori, portrayed by Kento Nakajima, who operates as a sex therapist at the Shimotori Clinic. In his professional capacity, he addresses complex patient challenges including sexless relationships, erectile dysfunction, adultery, sexual trauma, and menopausal disorders. Alongside navigating external prejudice and social ridicule related to his profession, Shimotori maintains a commitment to his patients while secretly harboring personal difficulties of his own.

Production and Origin

The series is an adaptation of the webcomic titled S to X: Shimotori Ichito Therapist no Kokuhaku, written and illustrated by Kisei Tada. The source material was serialized online via the platform Comic Days between August 10, 2021, and July 12, 2022. Screenwriting duties for the screen adaptation involve Tomoko Yoshida, Shogo Kusano, Ruriko Matsushima, and Takumi Baba, with Shogo Kusano also serving in the capacity of director.
