Production

The series was directed by Lee Jang-soo and Kim Jin-min, with a screenplay written by Han Ji-hoon. Development of the script was a long-term project, with Han working on the screenplay for three years prior to production. The drama was produced with a significant budget, estimated at 13 billion KRW (approximately 11.4 million USD). Filming officially commenced on January 11, 2010, in Hoengseong, Gangwon-do.

Broadcast

Road No. 1 aired on MBC from June 23 to August 26, 2010. It occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot. The series followed Running, Goo and was succeeded by Mischievous Kiss on September 1, 2010.
