Revelations (2025 Film)
Revelations (Korean: 계시록; RR: Gyeshirok) is a South Korean thriller film directed by Yeon Sang-ho. The film is scheduled for release on March 21, 2025, and is distributed by Netflix. It is based on the webcomic of the same name, which was written by Yeon Sang-ho and illustrated by Choi Kyu-seok, and serialized on Kakao from April 22 to September 10, 2022.
Plot
The story centers on Sung Min-chan (played by Ryu Jun-yeol), a pastor dedicated to church planting in a small town. His life takes a dark turn when a man named Kwon Yang-rae (Shin Min-jae) enters his church. Although initially optimistic about a new congregant, Min-chan becomes disillusioned upon discovering that Yang-rae is an ex-convict wearing an electronic monitoring anklet. Min-chan subsequently experiences a divine revelation, leading him to believe that Yang-rae is responsible for the kidnapping of his son. Driven by this conviction, Min-chan views it as his duty to punish Yang-rae.
Parallel to this, Detective Lee Yeon-hui (Shin Hyun-bin) investigates the disappearance of Min-chan's son. Yeon-hui struggles with the trauma of her past, specifically the loss of her younger sister to a violent crime. Despite her personal turmoil, she pursues Yang-rae as the primary suspect while simultaneously scrutinizing the suspicious behavior of Pastor Min-chan.
