Red Eyes: Surveillance Investigation Team (Japanese: レッドアイズ 監視捜査班, Hepburn: Reddo Aizu: Kanshi Sōsahan) is a Japanese television crime drama series that aired on NTV from January 23 to March 27, 2021. The series consists of 10 episodes and was broadcast in the Saturday 22:00 time slot.

Premise

The story focuses on the Kanagawa Prefectural Police's newly established unit, the Kanagawa Surveillance Investigation Center (KSBC). The unit utilizes data from approximately 5 million CCTV cameras across Japan to track and investigate criminal activity. The team is led by Kyosuke Fushimi, a former detective who recruits individuals with specialized skills, including former hackers and swindlers, to assist in solving complex cases. A central narrative arc involves the team's pursuit of a serial killer responsible for the death of Fushimi's former partner.

Production

The series was directed by Itaru Mizuno and Makoto Naganuma, with a screenplay written by Masaaki Sakai, Teppei Fukuda, and Yukiko Manabe. It occupied the NTV Saturday 22:00 time slot, following the conclusion of A Girl of 35 and preceding Life's Punchline.

Reception

According to data from Video Research, Ltd., the series achieved an average viewership rating of 9.84% in the Kanto region during its initial broadcast run.
