Psychopath Diary

Psychopath Diary (Korean: 싸이코패스 다이어리) is a South Korean television series that aired on the cable network tvN from November 20, 2019, to January 9, 2020. The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:30 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Yook Dong-Sik, a timid employee at a brokerage firm who is frequently mistreated by his peers. After witnessing a murder, he discovers a diary belonging to a serial killer that contains detailed logs of his crimes. While fleeing the scene, Dong-Sik is struck by a vehicle driven by police officer Sim Bo-Kyung. The accident causes him to lose his memory. Upon finding the diary in his possession, he mistakenly believes that he is the serial killer described within its pages. This false belief leads to a dramatic change in his personality. Meanwhile, the actual killer, Seo In-Woo, who is a director at Dong-Sik's company, struggles to recover his lost diary.

Production

The series was directed by Lee Jong-Jae, with a screenplay written by Ryoo Yong-Jae, Kim Hwan-Chae, and Choi Sung-Joon. The first script reading for the production took place in August 2019 in the Sangnam neighborhood of Seoul, South Korea. The series replaced Miss Lee in its time slot and was followed by Money Game in January 2020.
