Proof of Innocence (2016 Film)
Proof of Innocence (Korean: 특별수사: 사형수의 편지; RR: Teukbyeolsusa: Sahyoungsuui Pyeonji) is a 2016 South Korean crime drama film directed and written by Kwon Jong-Kwan. The film follows a former detective turned law office manager who investigates a case after receiving a letter from a death row inmate claiming innocence.

Plot
Choi Pil-Jae (Kim Myung-Min), a former detective who now works as a manager at a law office, receives a mysterious letter from a prisoner named Kwon Soon-Tae (Kim Sang-Ho). The prisoner maintains that he is innocent of the crimes for which he is incarcerated. Upon learning that the detective originally in charge of the case is a former professional rival, Choi decides to investigate the matter, driven in part by a desire for personal retribution.

The film was produced by Kim Jae-Yong and distributed by Next Entertainment World. Principal photography commenced on June 12, 2015, and concluded on September 26, 2015. During its development phase, the film was known by the working title Gamokeseo On Pyeonji, which translates to A Letter from Prison.
