Perfume (2019 South Korean Television Series)

Perfume is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from June 3 to July 23, 2019. The fantasy drama, directed by Kim Sang-hwi and written by Choi Hyun-ok, consists of 32 episodes and explores themes of identity, beauty, and personal transformation.

Plot

The story follows Min Jae-hee, a middle-aged housewife who has dedicated her life to her family, only to face the collapse of her personal life. Feeling betrayed and hopeless, she discovers a mysterious perfume that temporarily transforms her appearance into that of a beautiful young woman. Adopting the name Min Ye-rin, she begins a new life as a fashion model. During her journey, she encounters Seo Yi-do, a highly successful but temperamental fashion designer.

Production

The series occupied the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot on KBS2, following the conclusion of My Fellow Citizens. It was subsequently followed by I Wanna Hear Your Song. During the casting process, Koh Joon-hee and Eric were initially offered the lead roles but ultimately declined.
