Perfect Number (2012 Film)
Perfect Number (Korean: 용의자X; RR: Yonguija X) is a 2012 South Korean mystery film directed by Pang Eun-jin. The film is an adaptation of the 2005 novel The Devotion of Suspect X (Yogisha X no Kenshin) by Japanese author Keigo Higashino.

Plot
The story follows Suk-go (played by Ryoo Seung-bum), a brilliant but isolated mathematician. He lives next door to Hwa-sun (Lee Yo-won), a woman attempting to escape her troubled past. When Hwa-sun's violent ex-boyfriend arrives at her apartment to confront her, a fatal struggle ensues. Upon hearing the disturbance, Suk-go intervenes and uses his mathematical intellect to devise an intricate plan to cover up the crime and protect Hwa-sun. As the investigation unfolds, Hwa-sun begins to question the true motivations behind Suk-go's elaborate assistance.
Production
The film was produced under the working title Wonjeonhan Sarang (Perfect Love) before being finalized as Yonguija X. Principal photography commenced on December 10, 2011, and concluded on April 10, 2012. A wrap party was held in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, to mark the completion of filming.



Release
Perfect Number held its world premiere on October 7, 2012, at the 17th Busan International Film Festival as part of the Korean Cinema Today - Panorama section. It was released theatrically in South Korea on October 18, 2012, by CJ Entertainment.
