Perfect Family (South Korean TV series)

Perfect Family is a South Korean mystery drama series that aired on KBS2 from August 14 to September 19, 2024. The series consists of 12 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:50 time slot. It is notable for being the first South Korean drama series directed by the Japanese filmmaker Isao Yukisada.

Background

The drama is based on the webcomic Wanbyeokhan Gajok, written by Nangbba and illustrated by Jooeun. The original webcomic was serialized on Naver from August 24, 2020, to August 17, 2021.

Plot

The story centers on the family of Choi Jin-Hyuk, a successful lawyer, his wife Ha Eun-Joo, and their adopted daughter, Choi Sun-Hui. While the family appears to be happy and stable, their lives are disrupted when Choi Sun-Hui becomes involved in a murder case. Ha Eun-Joo, a former neuropsychiatric specialist who left her profession following a traumatic accident, is portrayed as a devoted mother determined to protect her daughter at any cost.
