Peninsula (2020 Film)

Peninsula (Korean: 반도; RR: Bando) is a 2020 South Korean action-horror film directed by Yeon Sang-ho. It is a standalone sequel to the 2016 film Train to Busan, set four years after the initial zombie outbreak that devastated the Korean peninsula.

Plot

The story takes place four years after the events of Train to Busan. The Korean peninsula has been abandoned and quarantined by the rest of the world due to the zombie virus. A former soldier, Han Jung-suk, is tasked with returning to the desolate peninsula to retrieve a truck filled with money. Upon arrival, he discovers that survivors have formed new, often brutal, social structures amidst the undead.

Production

The film was directed by Yeon Sang-ho, who also directed the preceding films in the series. Principal photography for Peninsula began on June 24, 2019, and concluded on October 31, 2019.
